2015 China Xining, "Kunlun Verve. Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize Contributions Wanted

In order to expand the influence and popularity of Xining, and to create city culture atmosphere, Xining Municipal Government hold the 2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize in "Beautiful China Kunlun Verve" as the theme, cooperate with Association of Chinese Sculptor.

The government hopes to be able to display the Kunlun rich cultural connotation in the form of sculpture to further promote and carry forward the Kunlun culture; The competition also collects outstanding sculptures to providing art support for Xining "Kunlun Verve" Park.

This event could enhance the quality of urban culture; meanwhile, promote cultural exchange activities and accelerate the development of cultural undertakings in Xining through the broad participation of domestic and foreign sculptors.

1. Brief Introduction of Heavenly Creations Award

"Heavenly Creations Award" trademark exclusively which held by the Association of Chinese Sculptor authorized by the State Trademark Office in 2013. It is one of the highest international reputation and the most authoritative industry awards in the domestic sculpture sector. Its mission is to improve the urban environment and sublimate urban culture. It can offer association advantages, integrate social resources; launch international sculpture class large system Column activity which has wide influence.

Association is committed to promote the development of Chinese contemporary sculpture; help the improvement of sculptors; promote community exchanges; promote industrialization and social outcomes sculptures conversion; promote sculpture agencies, sculptors, artist intellectual achievement can services at the local; explore Chinese sculpture art market, through sculpture competitions.

3. Collect object

Domestic and foreign sculptors, college students and teachers, design companies, sculpture companies, freelance designer, sculpture fans, art groups and individuals all can participate.

4. Activities schedule

(A) On January 30th, 2015, finish the pre-planning; set up Sculpture Competition Organizing Committee, the jury and the office; develop specific work programs and draft the Contributions Wanted;

(B) In mid-February 2015, held a press conference and publish the Contributions Wanted;

(C) April 15th, 2015 is the deadline of draft design. The committee will organize manuscripts sculpture design for qualification in advance review and start online network review on Chinese Sculptor official website, then end on May 1st and start internet voting;

(D) From May 10th, 2015 to June 10th produce finalists sample sculptures; deadline is on June 10th;

(E) On June 20, 2015 to 28th, final assessment and public of sample sculptures;

(F) In early July, 2015, hold ceremony and display the winning entries. Winners work will be published in book: "2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize Collections." in the special issue of Association of Chinese Sculptor's Journal magazine;

(G)During the ceremony, the organizing committee will conduct Xining City Organization Sculptor Research, and organized the "2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize" Academic Forum;

(H)August to December, 2015, featured part of winning works to do post-production and permanent display in Xining "Kunlun charm" area.

5. Subject

(A) Sculptures that reflect the Kunlun Mountains as the root of culture;

(B) Sculptures that reflect the core content of Kunlun myth;

6. Requirement and Submit

(A) Requirement

Participants need to submit:

1. Instructions: include title, design concepts, creative ideas instructions, body mass, material and suitable environmental conditions, post-production estimate;

2. Design drawings: include plans, elevations single or groups of sculpture, multi-faceted renderings (less than two azimuth effect), and the other helps to illustrate the design intent drawings;

3. Sculpture sample: authors should submit their own making sculpture demo to organizing committee to reflect the true style of work's material, color, etc. The work should be easy to carry and store. The size should be controlled between 0.8 to 1.5 meters (except for special circumstances);

4. The sample package mailed: sculpture packing box should be solid, strong that make work will not shaking in the box; mark at the openings mouth. The box should be easy to open but also convenient when returning capping works. The side of crates should labeled contributor's name, contact information, full address, telephone number, work picture (printed on A4 paper). Damage caused by quality problems of crates, the organizing committee shall not take responsibility.

(B) Submission

All participants should download and fill in their own "2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize Information Registration Form" (hereinafter referred to as: Information Registration Form), and submit before deadline. (See Annex 1)

Participant should submit works in conjunction with following materials:

1. ID card copy, if participants are individuals;

2. Business license copy and organization code certificate copy, if the participants are units;

3. "Information Registration Form", signed or stamped by the author (the form is available for download). The lack of any one or more of the essential documents collected works will be considered as substandard.

4. Organizing Committee will safekeeping all election materials, entries and winners (Grand Prize, Gold, Silver, and Bronze) works and those are non-refundable. So please save the backup participants. If the materials submitted late, they would not be accepted.

5. Organizing Committee has the right to examine and verify participants' qualifications. Committee has the right to unilaterally cancel the participants' contestants participate, award and other qualifications, at any stage of this competition activities, if participants do not have the qualifications or make false statements in terms of participation qualifications.

Winning works will be on long-term display in Net-gallery of Association of Chinese Sculptor and are eligible each year to participate in the annual boutique award-winning of Association of Chinese Sculptor wood, stone, bronze, etc. professional committee.

Chinese sculpture winning network Museum Sculpture Museum Association and to participate in the annual award-winning boutique, Chinese sculptor Association wood, stone, bronze, etc. Winners; data can be logged into the association's sculpture database and have the priority to recommended works on electricity international platform in Chinese Sculptor cultural industrial park, also can recommend work to domestic and foreign art galleries, museum collections.

9. Award Choice

(A) Contest prizes choose by the Review Board during the pre-show contest;

(B) In order to ensure a fair and impartial of this competition, to ensure that Xining will truly collect fine sculpture design, the Organizing Committee of expert judges will be constitute by associate professors and above experts, professors who serve as cultural experts will also be invited. These experts will be selected in Chinese contemporary sculptor database, three days ahead.

10. Dealing with work after contest

(A) Winning sculptures will be made by stages and exhibit in Xining "Kunlun Verve" Park permanently;

(B) All entries and materials design draft document are non-refundable. The ownership of the finalists sample shall be owned by the originator. The two sides signed the email shall be regarded as the original;

(C) Due to mail delays, lost or damaged, misdirected, postage shortage, theft or other causes organizers entries lost or damaged, the organizers shall not be liable (except manuscript arrived);

(D) All winning entries and good works will be collected in "2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize Collections", special issued by Association of Chinese Sculptor's magazine "Sculptor";

(F)Contest will invite some winner sculptors to awards ceremony. During the ceremony, the organizing committee will conduct Xining City Organization Sculptor Research, and organized the "2015 China Xining "Kunlun Verve Heavenly Creations Award" Urban Theme Sculpture Contest Prize" Academic Forum.
